Everton will be making the journey to Estádio José Alvalade on Thursday for the second leg of a final 32 Europa League encounter with Sporting CP. The first game ended with a 2-1 win for Everton.

The first leg of this tie seemed to be completely in the bag for Everton until they allowed Sporting an away goal. Sylvain Distin was responsible for Sporting being given a penalty that they managed to bury in the net; he took down one of the Sporting players right outside the box. Distin had earlier been the cause of celebration among fans after a goal in the 49^th minute; his penalty though turned him from hero to bad guy.

Sporting will have the home advantage and will be doing all they can to build on their away goal.
